More like a pandemic. I've read up on this--v.v. frightening. Scientists have tested tissue from soldiers who died from the flu in 1918 and have directly linked it to the bird flu found mainly in Asia today.
Instead of just attacking your lungs it attacks your entire central nervous system, making it nearly impossible for your body to fight back.
More alarming is the fact that there is not a completely effective vaccine & what we do have--there are only enough doses for about 2 million people (in the U.S.)
I used to laugh at those people who wear surgical masks on the Subway in DC, but I'm not laughing now...
